parents in class of 2024 yes that's your new title you are the class of 2024 my name is Mister Holgate and I'm the assistant principal of guidance and pupil Personnel on behalf of my guy counseling team I would like to welcome you to be a part of the Clara Barton family for the next four years you have been selected to Clara Barton because there was something in your application your grades your attendants something that appealed it to mr. teeth and me to accept you you were the student in your Junior High School in your honest in the honor classes some of them were named The Eagle the store's the Astro or whatever other name your honor classes had therefore if you start to slip up here at Clara Barton and and I know that it's you and I know that is not due to lack of ability but it's a lack of vacation we know you can do it and we expect you to do it in a simple sentence you need 44 credits and Five Regents to graduate in 2024 however it's up to you to do your best and get the best average you're capable of getting in order to attend the top college of your choice Vista at Clara Barton support you all the way and you'll each have one of those wonderful guidance counselor to guide you along the way at this time you will meet the counselors thank you my name is Jessica in addition to being a counselor mainstream classes I'm also the counselor of the bilingual Haitian Creole we went by the Clio CPT to not be long for Ghana hi everyone, and I am also one of the guidance counselors at Clara Barton I have some of the recruitment so maybe over the past couple of years I work with regular students as well as any students that fall behind and need a little extra help in getting back on track to graduation stupid parents Isaac also one of the guidance counselors some of you may have been admitted under the Gateway program so I will be your counselor for the Gateway I'm also the council for the students that get into later later in your academic years counselor for the practical nursing students as well as a dozen with the students look forward to getting to meet you and getting to know you thank you my parents are the students of classes play 24 by my name is Mister never sent guidance counselor for students from grades nine through twelve those of you who get into Healthcare mobile Olympic and throw 3D years I'll be a counselor for the nursing assistant majors in medical assistant positions that's not what you need the dental lab technology and the pharmacy EMT program hot dogs good luck hello Carver High School my name is mainstream 9 to 12 graders I'm pretty sure you probably stole my name I'm I'm very excited to meet you in person hopefully soon and to work with you if you ever need any special programs to work on the weekends or did you lock the school on the person to come see so make sure you come into the office hello class of 24 * in high school my name is Marsha trim High School my office is in room 205 in the for my primary caseload of students include students with individual educational plans the first three weeks of high school transition from Junior olive oil as guidance counselors include but not limited to academic classroom presentation college application process student coordination post High School consultation with Community agencies guidance office open door policy which means without an appointment with academic support please feel free to contact me via email questions are concerned I'm looking forward to serving you and your body strong again okay so I'm going you talk about the core academic forces that you need in order to graduate you need a minimum for Credit Now on average most of our students graduate with far more than 44 credits you need poor credit in the ninth grade you'll get will get a credit for English algebra or science physical education and global history 1 and now also remember that fastest run from September through December and then to Spring the spring semester starts February to June will have two different teachers in the temple have English Algebra 2 living environment of chemistry physical education global history moving on to the 11th grade take an elective science 12th grade English education now there are requirements that you need General General you need requires music art and one House Press and if it should you get to take 7 elective courses for some areas that summer health career Ceramics during college now classes process can sometimes they may satisfy in order to graduate with regions of Homer you need to have taken and pass the English 1 English Regents Math Science u.s. History and global history remember it starts and Grace 11th and 12th grade are practical nursing nursing assistant medical assistant vision technology dental assistant and dental lab tech we also have our 12th graders for pharmacy tech Mission and you will apply for this program once you finish your 10th grade so for those of you that got into the gateway honest program what the program really entails you going to be taking several courses more than what you need for graduation purposes you must maintain at 85% average or better like you have to participate in all the Gateway events that with him we also encourage our students to participate in community service hours and we say about 10 hours averaging each year the several opportunities at the Gateway students can be involved in they go on College trip the science and math kid projects that they can do with outside organization and it's also access to several internship the Gateway program definitely isn't that you won't be leaving with a certification once you finish that program but what you will be leaving with advanced placement courses and hopefully credits going to be able to take you as a college and it's just a really good program that you going to be involved in or going to help to help your resume to look even better than someone that hasn't participated everything so a lot of times of my students usually say oh well completed all of my math requirement for graduation I've already completed all my requirements for for science a graduation but we always say our Gateway honestly as you're going to do more above and beyond so not just as the credits you need for math but you may end up graduating with a maybe not the six credits for Science and maybe 10 it just depends we have several advanced placement courses Neil getting more about that soon thank you College down in AP courses college now with our partnership with Kingsborough Community College you're able to take the behavioral sciences biology element Class B classes that we currently offer biology crash course English literature psychology statistics US government and politics and US history so the most important thing that we really need the parents is that don't just drop your kids at high school go with them so you'll have several different ways that you can keep track of your student of your child. So you can do that through PupilPath you might already be familiar with it if you need help with that nothing like you can reach out to our parent coordinator and Miss Lawson report cards you'll be receiving three of them each semester so it sticks every year so definitely keep an eye out for those either through PupilPath or through email directly or you can also ask your child for them in last night New York City just came out with a new program called NYC schools account if you visit my school you'll be able to set up your account so definitely keep in touch with us all of our contact information this year you will be assigned your guidance counselor by October 1st so at that point will definitely be reaching out parents thank you students just want to say to you that as you know we're not too sure what's in store for us in September they lot of options and we will know for sure the deal we will give us directives in August however on behalf of the guidance counselors again we would love to say to you that regardless of what format we have if we are back School regular business as usual the guidance counselors will be there for you if we're having remote learning again as what we have had for the past three months the guidance counselor to be there for you will contact you and we will help you as much as we can until things get back to normal so once again welcome to Clara Barton family thank you we knew that you had a lot of schools to the Jews are to apply to so thank you for putting Clara Barton at your Top Choice goodbye
