Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Family Members:

Welcome to Clara Barton High School for Health Professions. It is imperative that parents become partners with our school to ensure the success of your child. Our staff members work diligently to prepare every student for the rigors of the twenty-first century. In addition to teaching core subject areas that are needed for course credit and Regent’s preparation, we are emphasizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills. To become a competitive player in our global economy, all students are required to meet and be encouraged to exceed New York State learning standards and required assessments.

Parents are needed to monitor the progress of their children throughout the four-year High School journey. Do not wait until the end of a marking period to learn about the achievement of your child. Teachers are encouraged to reach out to parents at the earliest juncture when academic or behavioral challenges arise. We encourage communication between the school and home. Encourage your child to speak up and report any problem he or she may be experiencing. Our staff of administrators and supervisors coupled with teachers, educational assistants, family workers, guidance counselors, secretaries, school aides, and community-based organizations are on board to support the student and family members. I encourage everyone to attend our Parent Association meetings. Please check the monthly calendar on this website for dates and times. I look forward to meeting and talking to you at these upcoming meetings.

Sincerely,
Dr. Richard A. Forman
