September Welcome Letter
Dear Panther Families,
Welcome to the start of a fantastic new school year at Clara Barton High School! We hope you and your children had a wonderful summer filled with relaxation and fun. We are thrilled to kick off the new school year on Thursday, September 4, 2025, and we can't wait to welcome our students back into the building. Whether you are joining our Panther community for the first time or are a returning family, we are excited to begin this journey of academic and personal growth with you.
At Clara Barton High School for Health Professions, we are committed to fostering a vibrant and supportive community. To help you get ready for a fantastic year, please see the important information and resources below.
Stay Connected & Informed
- NYC Schools Account (NYCSA): This is your primary source for tracking your student’s progress, including grades, attendance, and important announcements. If you’re new to NYC Public Schools, please create an account. If you’re a returning family, please ensure your contact information is up to date.
- School Website & Social Media: Bookmark our school website clarabartonhs.org for the latest news, event calendars, and updates. Be sure to follow us on Instagram, FaceBook and X/Twitter @ClaraBartonHS to see the incredible things our students are doing!
- Parent Coordinator: Your dedicated Parent Coordinator, Ms. Lawson, is your go-to person for any school-related questions. She can be reached via email at [email protected]
Engage with Our Community
- Getting Involved: We encourage you to be an active part of our school community! We will be hosting Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM.
- Parent-Teacher Association (PTA): Welcome! You are automatically a member of our PTA! The PTA is a vital part of our school, helping to support our programs and build a strong community. Our first meeting will be held in person on Tuesday, September 16th at 7pm in the auditorium. As always, we look forward to seeing you there!
- Parent-Teacher Conferences: Our fall conferences are scheduled for late November and our spring conferences are scheduled for March. This is a great opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers and learn about their classes and expectations for the year.
- School Events Calendar: From club fairs to spirit weeks and college information nights, there's always something happening at CBHS. Keep an eye on the School Calendar so you don’t miss out.
Set Up for Success
- First Day Readiness: Help your child(ren) ease back into the school routine with a consistent sleep schedule. Please also review their schedule and our bell times to ensure they arrive on time and ready to learn. For transportation details, including eligibility for a Student OMNY card, visit the NYCPS Transportation page.
- Personal Electronic Device Policy: To create a focused learning environment, all personal electronic devices must be stored away during the school day. Please review our school’s specific cell phone policy with your child, which is available on our website.
- Health & Wellness: Please ensure all required health forms are completed and submitted before the first day of school. This includes making sure your child is up to date on all required immunizations.
We are looking forward to a year of inspiration, challenge, and achievement. Let's make it a great one together!
We can’t wait to see you on Thursday, September 4th!
